Not on mine. The second the power goes off, the gas cuts out. When the power goes back on you need to press a button to confirm that the knobs are off before the gas will reopen.
Why did the manufacturer do that? What's the safety issue?
the nonsense coming forth from these ideas
Can you please clarify what you mean by this?
I grew up with Electric always hearing electric is old, expensive etc. and should really get "updated" with a gas oven.. are gas heaters , dryers next? Go back to electric? Do they not know how most electric is produced?
Induction
They are not banning stoves so can we stop with the non-sense!!!
induction has overtaken gas as the gold standard.
it's good to be a Lubavitcher
First of all, electric is considered superior for the oven, and has been for a long time. Gas has been considered superior to electric for stovetop, but that's only traditional electric - induction has overtaken gas as the gold standard. And re dryers - yes. Heat pump dryers are gaining ground in europe so don't be surprised to see them more and more here. Same for water heaters.
The cost of natural gas is lower than the cost of electricity.
In what way is electric superior for the oven? The cost of natural gas is lower than the cost of electricity.
More even baking for starters.
Do you need more NG to produce the same amount of heat that electricity does?
And re dryers - yes. Heat pump dryers are gaining ground in europe so don't be surprised to see them more and more here. Same for water heaters.
