Spirit booking for 5

When booking for 5 people in a group, are you better off booking one reservation or 5 separate?

If one person  doesn't end up flying, would that matter to the group, if booked on 1 reservation?

No difference.
If you plan on forfeiting the additional ticket, don’t do anything. If you want to change it, you can ask them to split it and cancel only that passenger.
