Non CC User, need guidance

Looking for guidance here, in general we don't use any CC, only CC I have is the Chase Freedom, and don't do much there.

Looking at booking a vaca in Cancun in a Hyatt; seeking guidance on opening a CC and swiping my vacation on that (will pay off right away imyH) and cash out $ for extra cash. Or if there would be any other ideas I'd greatly appreciate it!

Also, I have great credit and should be able to open cards that need 'great' credit imyH.

What is the total cost of the vacation that you will be putting on the credit card? Are you strictly looking for cash back or to generate points that can be utilized for subsequent vacations?

4-5k but can potentially put more of my regular expenses if needed.

Cash back would be ideal.
