PayPal bill pay issue

I’ve been using this option not to have to pay transaction fee, but I keep on getting error messages. It has worked until now is anyone else having this problem? The company specifically that’s not working is National Grid.

I tried using it for NG for the first time around 6 weeks ago and couldn't get it to work. Never used it before though so I assumed I was doing something wrong.

Just used it for the 2nd time to pay National Grid.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

ConEd still works
ConEd allows me to pay with CC without fees directly. Never tried PayPal.

Did you try with the dash? Without?

It took me 2 or 3 attempts until I got it right. It now shows up as a payee.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Names shouldn't be the issue. I have my name on NG account and paid from DW's PayPal account.

Is it possible you selected the wrong National Grid? Check your bill to make sure the payment zip code matches.

Thank you! I didn't realize I needed to put in their Zip code. I was putting in my own ::). Just paid my bill

BTW. US bank Cash+ card lets you select a 5% category every quarter. Utilities is one of the options for 5%.

I paid my Amex cc bill with PayPal but it would only let me use debit card.
And it took a full week to post.

I recently had a couple of occurrences where I tried to pay a large bill, I checked with AMEX in advance that amount would be approved, but PayPal comes back with message "something went wrong please try again" which is usually the message when charge is declined by CC. Interestingly enough the charge does appear as pending on AMEX website, but then it falls off after a couple of days.

Does anyone have any insights into this?

There was no reason for the CC payment to fail in my case. I checked spending power with AMEX before I tried to make the payment, and AMEX said the amount would be approved (I actually checked an amount higher than the payment amount).
