Its the whole perp-walk thing. Very nice to say “innocent until proven guilty” but then plaster his face & name to the world to shame him & his family forever.

Especially the case when it comes to kids, who may be pressured by a parent to embellish things so that they don't get in trouble.
You can imagine what would happen if you would sternly ask your own kid why they would agree to walk with a stranger...

I don't know where you live, but there are communities where this is common practice, and should be seen as such.

Obviously not the community where this occurred. The more serious a danger is, the more we instill in our children precautions. How many of us have ever had a circumstance where you needed to "stop, drop, and roll" or how many people were actually offered candies from strangers. However, due to the grave danger the 1 in million can cause, the lessons are taught early on.

I recall when I was a counselor in camp, we were told to never get into any situation where there may even be the slightest opportunity to suspect you. IE dont walk alone with kids, dont touch any kids (other than high five), etc etc.

Adults need to be way more cognizant and self aware how their actions are betrayed. That being said, what he went through is terrible and I hope his name gets off the internet. However, I dont think any lesson from here is to become any less diligent. Meaning this happens again elsewhere, police should be called and investigate etc...

Idk what i find strange is that they ran to conclusions too quick maybe like look at the camera. Or ask the kid if the person in question even asked you to leave the building with him or to just walk him upto/to the front door. A few more hours of investigation and maybe just maybe we could have perverted ruining his life, his familys life and his children. When did we stop caring about the person who we just suspect and no actual evidence.

I know this may be a radical idea, but perhaps all the Jewish media sites should post his actual name now, so that the truth should come up when someone Googles his name. Right now, Googling the name will bring up ONLY negative stories, but ZERO Jewish sites named him. Maybe it would be a great service to him to write his name now in an article so that people Googling him in the future will see the truth?

Something like "Allegations against {Real Name Here} Proven Bogus After Video Footage Released."

It's not a regular thing for Jewish sites to do, but maybe it's worth doing as a FAVOR for the man? Maybe someone could make the effort to call the man, or his lawyer (Avi Moskowitz), and ask if they would want his name released in the Jewish community at this point, so that a counterview would come up in a search?

@Dan would you have any interest? Intentional or not, you are a trusted name in the media world, and you may be able to save this man in the future when a potential mechutan may search his name...

The original article I read yesterday didn't have a name. Maybe since then they added it. Either way the main point was that ywn didn't post the name or picture
