You want to attack him for abuse against women and children that is fair game. This other claim isn't worth the paper it is written on.

The quote was from an independent English-only Russian newspaper and it is considered credible by independent sources. What makes it very credible is Hull's response that he was taken out of context because the quote didn't accurately capture his tone of voice and facial expressions. As if somehow the quote would sound better if we were there.
And anything else you see written about him by his family and others that knew him is very negative - constantly drunk, racist, and belligerent.
For all the hills to die on, this is a complete head scratcher.
