At an Airbnb for shabbos and forgot to bring a knife to slice...

BH @YankyDoodle to the rescue 🤣

It's funnier if you know how small 15 blade is, he said next time he'll bring an 11 :))

Let me not ask if it was toiveled...

Eta. Actually there is good reason to say that a surgical blade which is never used for food that it warrants opening a new thread in the rare instance when used on food, doesn't require tevilah :)

Utensils made from metal or glass whose intended purpose is not for food usage, e.g. an arts and crafts knife. Even if the knife was to be occasionally used for food preparation, tevila would not be required

Like the Minchas Yitzchak I linked to. Additionally, I believe these blades are one time use disposables.

We do a large-scale meat and chicken delivery order for my neighborhood. Before Pesach two years ago, I was between razor cutters and the cases needed to be opened. (Even though not halachically an issue to use my chometz knives, you know how antsy people get.) Luckily one of the first to show up was a mohel - and he gave me one of his disposable milah knives. (It is very very sharp, even now.) I keep it with my Pesach things and use it to open the meat and chicken boxes every year.

New thread: what kind of cutters do you misuse?

These cutters work best for case straps. The trick is to cut the strap at a 45 degree angle not straight.

Just thinking out loud. If it’s only used for surgery it may actually be Mulktzah.

I know lots of people with surgical blades, not one of them a surgeon :)
