My parents shul used to get Shatzer, they're doing PT this year. $45/lb for regular. :o

Not sure. I guess we'll wait and see what prices others are getting for PT. It's not like that shul's prices for Shatzer were the lowest you could find either, but $45 sounds nuts. In the past they've gotten one box of Charedim separately, but with the crazy prices they're getting extra thin through another local shul (from Tiferes?) for only $35/lb.

The PT price is $38/lb for new customers. All shuls usually do this as a fund raiser and depending on the distance and transport cost the additional $7/lb is not outrageous.

Shul price here was $32 for PT last year. Guess we'll see what it comes out to, but $45 would be a shocking 41% YOY increase, which sounds more like gouging than inflation to me.

There are still options for those not interested in paying these prices. Let's see what Moishas and Bingo end up with last year was $11/lb
Holy land @ Costco is $16/lb
There are plenty of Corolla's and Elantra's to purchase
 If you want a a Tesla, or BMW, you're going to pay significantly more

I phrased I that way bc it was billed as extra thin - which everyone else has at $60/lb and up.
