No, it's a real issue with real solutions. I think it fits here. That other thread probably needs to get moved, though.

The horror stories are renowned. What can we as consumers actually do?

You're in the food industry, you go pesicha.

It's quite simple. There are other brands out there. Stores get bullied because the products sell. If consumers were bothered by the situation enough, they could ease the burden of the stores by supporting the other brands, taking away Kayco's leverage. At the end of the day, though, consumers mainly want to complain about the bad company, but not put their money where their mouth are.

sort of agree. But I don't think Jews purchase product based on brand story or the ethics of a brand.

Consumers think very short term. My wife wants the same spice she always got. That what I will get now.

Unilever.

When we want to, we can make plenty of noise about a brand. That your wife doesn't care is a different story.

Nothing to tell. I'm small potatoes.

I stock a good number of their products. My business is to provide consumers with what they want. If I don't have it, they'll go elsewhere. They happen to want a lot of Kayco products, so it is what it is.

Where did rabbonim come into the picture? Do. Not. Buy. Their. Products. I literally can't spell it out for you any clearer. But by all means, keep finding other people to blame.

do they specifically want kayco products or they want a Jewish brand product? (That may only exist with kayco)

Which major heimish brands are not Kayco? (I'm assuming that this is a shorter list vs what IS Kayco!)
