There’s value to verbalizing things, not just for the one hearing but for the one saying it as well. This is true for human relationships/communications, and is certainly true for prayer.
There is also great value in praying in silence. Either way you do it G-d knows.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Come early to שחרית and say פסוקי דזמרה with כוונה. There’s a lot of thanking Hashem in there. If you concentrate hopefully you’ll start meaning what you say.
It may not be so easy to wake up on time but definitely easier than working on yourself. If that’s also too hard than maybe just try it for a week…

This reads to me like G-d needs to be thanked like we do for humans. Shouldn't our actions be the best way to show thanks?

Yes. Which is why I wrote:

Which means emulate God- just as He is compassionate, so too, you should be.

Shortly after I arrived in Israel for yeshiva, I attended a Friday vaad of the Mir RY R. Leizer Yudel Finkel shlita. It was after couple weeks of relentless rocket fire from Gaza which miraculously caused little harm.
After he finished the vaad, he announced that it was incumbent on us to publicly thank Hashem for his protection. He proceeded to lead a verse by verse recitation of נשמת.

from קין and הבל we learn that it's not just who we thank, its also how we thank, hashem doesn't need our appreciation but we need to appreciate and thank to the best of our ability, and by doing this we gain a bonus that we become better people.

At that time [when the story of the Exodus is being told], the Holy Blessed One gathers together all of the heavenly hosts and says to them: "Go and listen to the telling of My praises, for right now my children are speaking and rejoicing in My salvation." Immediately, they all gather and come and connect themselves together with the people of Israel, and listen to their telling of praises. For when [Israel] rejoices in the joy of their Master's salvation, the [heavenly hosts] go and give thanks to the Holy Blessed One for all of these miracles and feats, and they give thanks to God for the holy nation that God has on the earth who rejoice in the joy of their Master's salvation.

At that time, strength and power are increased on high; and in their telling of the story, Israel grants strength to their Master. Like a King whose strength and power is increased when his people praise his power and give thanks to him, and all are gripped with fear in his presence, and the King's honor is spread over everyone. For this purpose, one should give praise and tell this story [of the Exodus] as has been said. And in a similar vein, it is incumbent upon every person to speak constantly before the Holy Blessed One, and to publicize all of the miracles that God has performed.

Nishmas on shabbos is a great time to think a little bit about what happened over the course of the previous week and to really thank Hashem for those things. Personally, I try to get up to nishmas with a few extra minutes to spare so I can say it slowly and with some thought.

Related:
Heard from R. Yeruchom Olshin:

He asked, its understandable why we mention the first three things on that list, mouth, tongue and lips, - as they are an integral part of speech and we are saying that even if our mouth, tongue, lips had much more power and ability it would still be insufficient to properly thank Hashem. But what do our eyes, hands and feet have to do with thanking Hashem.

We see that properly thanking Hashem requires action, (or maybe a change to our previous actions) not just words.

If not for our human shortcomings, the logic behind all of Judaism would be well understood.

Unfamiliar, but that is definitely a Jewish philosophy. Just like we don't consider asking
why did we come to this world?

to be
an odd question.

And don't believe this to be the case.
This reads to me like G-d needs to be thanked like we do for humans. Shouldn't our actions be the best way to show thanks?
but rather consider thanking Hashem to be an essential part of our religious service. Thanking Him brings us closer to Him.

It's the same question as what is the purpose of life... Still odd?
