from what I understand they took the samples from medical care facilities. So no mental health records to compare.
Obviously it would be best to have both but this is still somewhat informative. if you compare it to other studies of trans gender suicide rates.
When I first read the study I though the control group was for psychiatric hospitalization which would be much more informative.
