I have to tell you that if you think cash is a better option then points.  ..

If there's a resort fee and parking you'll pay tons

Will have to check on resort fees but 90% of stays are AI's so parking is not an issue.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Glad I just went to Ziva Cancun but can't believe how much the price is going up.
+1 been eying some AI in Cancun was available last week as I was getting ready to book all of points night got unavailable only cash options.  :'(
All props going up two categories are basically all the Zivas and Zilaras:
are these all-inclusive properties really worth visiting considering that you cant eat any of the food (for those keeping Kosher)?

What about drinks? Other than food/drinks I don't see an advantage. With food/drinks it is a no-brainer especially with kids.

the hotels are in the business of making money
just like the airlines

the general population has abused them for decades with all sorts of ways to game the system etc yet when the points issuer devalues, they're criminals and brutal and how are we ever gonna survive again

why should a $9,000 business class seat from jfk-hnd be had for 60,000 aa points which are valued here at what .07? same with the hotels/resorts... cash rate x dollars. points rates capped at 25k. transferred from chase from 1:5 spending and the property is "under water"

maybe to offset the devaluations, buy the stock and collect dividends (not hyatt of course but if u become a shareholder, go to the annual meeting and campaign for that)

Who said they are criminals? I expect the points needed to go up. I didn't expect this big of an increase.

From some of these comments you would think this is about someone getting beat up on the street

Lower volume at a higher price equals fewer stays for us with no more top line revenue for them

I don’t see GHBM on this updated list. Did a category change happen recently?

ETA: Seems like this already took effect.
