Do you fly a lot or use hotels a lot. It can make a big difference.

I think these 2 are the simplest:
Discover itŪ Miles 1.5% on everything
Discover itŪ Cash Back 5% rotating categories, 1% on everything else

I don't know about Canada specifically, but Discover doesn't have universal acceptance outside the US. Probably not the best idea for a card specifically for international spend.

In either case I would suggest whichever of the C1 cards best fit your needs. (Probably the QuickSilver if you don't care for transferable points or spend categories).

Personally, I would get the SavorOne since I think that's a better card. However, if you want simplicity and only plan on using this card internationally (I assume you stay at relatives and don't spend much at groceries or restaurants), you should go for the Quicksilver.

In summary, if you would optimize the card at home as well (or if my assumption about your international spend is wrong), probably best off with the SavorOne. Otherwise, probably the QuickSilver. Like everything else in the CC world, YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary).

"Here are a few other cards that are free:

▪︎Chase Amazon Prime Visa: 5% cashback on Amazon purchases.
▪︎United Gateway: 25% back on inflight purchases.
▪︎Barclay's Arrival.

Alternatively, you could consider getting an Amex card with a small annual fee that offers return protection, Amex offers, purchase protection, and warranty benefits.

Another option is a Chase Simple card, such as the Sapphire Preferred ($95 annual fee). It includes $15 quarterly credit for Instacart, worth $60. (Do lacal stores to avoid extra IC fees for pickup), extended warranty and purchase protection. It also offers benefits such as Gopuff and DoorDash credits, sign-up bonus, and $50 hotel credit for any hotel booked through Chase UR.

In my opinion, there are many cards with better perks than C1.

Edit..

Seems this card is pretty decent.
Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card
•Bonus Offer
Earn a one-time $200 cash bonus once you spend $500 on purchases within 3 months from account opening
•Unlimited Rewards
Earn unlimited 1.5% cash back on every purchase, every day
•Capital One Travel Rewards
Earn unlimited 5% cash back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel
•Annual Fee
$0
•No Foreign Transactions.

There are many out there.
