Several comic writers collaborated on a 100 year celebration of Charles Shultz's 100 birthday (had he been alive). Here are a few excerpts. (There are a few non-related ones because my screenshots are only rectangular.)

How about changing that thread title to "... of Mevin Yavinness" for a little more differentiation?
Do you want to play a board game, digitally or in Lakewood NJ? PM me. (Can be asynchronous, i.e. take turns whenever)

I have no problem with this. I didn't name the thread - it spookily appeared all on its own...  :o

I guess my request for a thread title change was rejected?
Should I abandon this thread and start a new one with the new title?

And unrelated (aka random):

Just hit a record actual write speed of 2.04GB a second when syncing between two internal SSDs. You generally don't get this kind of speed in the real world (only in tests of brand-new, empty drives). The sync's total was 16.4GB of mixed files (like you would expect a sync to be, and mine hadn't been done in 28 days), and the sync completed in about 40 seconds. The files that it copied at peak speed were large OGG audio files.
My previous record, in similar circumstances, was 1.42GB per second.

This is a clickbait title of an article: Gamer pairs RTX 4070 with Pentium - and DLSS 3 makes it playable.
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/rtx-4070-tested-with-pentium

But the Pentium Gold G7400 is not a Pentium. It is a modern (though cheap) processor from 2022. And it would have to be for running it together with a 4070 on the same motherboard. It is a fast dual core - quad thread - processor and nothing like an actual Pentium.
Or is this just semantics, and bothers me only because I'm an editor with a stickler for emes?

Posted in reference to the Intel vs AMD thread - an AMD history from MPC. Posted here to avoid cluttering the other thread. Besides, it is pretty random...

Try copying terabytes of data with server drives (NVME in software raid). Going to see very nice speeds indeed.

1. I know, but not with personal usage. In the same way you don't see manufacturer's rated speeds except when the drive is brand new and in specific circumstances. (I enjoy seeing speeds when some company puts out a PCIex16 card with 4 x4 SSDs in RAID. Those are scary.)

2. True. As I said, still looking through my archives when I have a spare minute. I only posted this at all because it helps the Intel die-hards understand why I sometimes recommend modern AMD laptops over modern Intel ones.
