Luggage transfer to final destination with long stop over?

is the 24 hour stop-ever rule with every airline or YMMV? If I have a 30 hour stopover on AF, can I get them to send the luggage all the way thru or will i have to claim them in CDG and then recheck them?

I can't speak for AF, but on TK it was impossible. I tried at several points. Luckily luggage storage at IST is inexpensive.
