Renting from Hertz in Israel
« on: January 20, 2013, 07:53:25 PM »
I am sorry if this topic has been posted in the past but I did a search and found nothing. I want to rent a car in Israel for 3 days next week and have the WMC and Hertz is giving great rates it seems. Can I refuse all forms of insurance and just rely on the WMC or are there some I should be accepting?

Thanks for the help!

Can't hurt to book with them and hopefully you'll hear back soon from Noach.

You will still need Liability insurance which can run $10-20+ a day. WMC only covers CDW and Theft protection.

You can always PM me with questions as you can see on my signature :-)

I have just used Noach and they are SUPERB. They went out of their way to help me when I had some issues (not related to them). They have always responded to my emails within hours regardless of the time of day!

I got this email from hertz when making a reservation. Does anyone know if need an actual letter from chase:

"Your rate is exclusive of CDW (Collision Damage Coverage), TP (Theft Protection) and TPPD
(Third Party Property Damage Coverage) which are mandatory in Israel.

Please be advised to check with your Credit Card Company whether or not they offer car rental
coverage in Israel. If you rely on the coverage provided by your credit card you will be required
to present a document from your Credit Card Company confirming that you have full damage
coverage in Israel.

The document must specify cardholder's full name, last 4 digits of the credit card,
the validity of the coverage in Israel, maximum excess amount and type of protection (damage, theft or both)."

Its probably depends on the agent and location.
Also best to have one.
I know from a few years ago official policy was yes, you need a letter.

Just completed a rental from Noach Rental. Super helpful.
It the booking process I drove them a bit crazy but they stuck with me.
