Does anyone know details of this org (zichron yosef- under ohr shloime?) or zichron shlomo refuah fund? Do they take the money that the kids collect and buy the prizes for 40% of the tzedakah money? Plus office costs... Do they have haskamos?

Ohr Shloime inc. was only granted non-profit status in 2021 so no form 990 data is available

the brochure says to make out checks to ohr shlomie which IRS says was created in 2021, so no public info available
the brochure also says money goes to mishkan yosef in irsrael which they say has been around for a decade, but has no contact info??

I'm not vouching, just saying that's it's completely normal and very common for Israeli Moisdos to open a us org with EIN to collect funds in the US.. and many do so after many years of being open.
Again, I'm not familiar with the ORG and not vouching.

Do you encourage your child/ren to collect, do you feel comfortable with them accepting such costly 'gifts', and how do you feel about this if it's an organization that you aren't comfortable with- let's assume because of this thread theme?

they give out hundreds of thousands of dollars in prizes (see lakewood scoop story on PD shutdown of giveaway last year) that easily translates into million plus dollars collected. IS THERE REALLY NO WAY TO VERIFY THAT THIS ISN'T A SCAM? I hope its not, where are the forum detectives when we need them

Random thought, there are 2 types of people that type in all caps, those that are mad at something - these people press the caps lock key and viola they can shout while typing, and those that are really really mad - they type with one finger on the shift key.
