Erev Pesach is very hard regarding food.

You just spend many days working hard to clean or even if your going away, to pack and plan, and then comes Erev Pesach. You can't eat bread or even Mezonos stuff and you can't eat Matzoh either. Throwing kids into the equation, especially if they are picky, does not help the situation at all. Oh yeah, one more thing, you aren't getting to eat the Seudah until after Maggid (excluding your tiny piece of Karpas).

What do you eat/feed your family on Erev Pesach?

We also need a thread about "What to eat on the first night of the 9 Days" - when you are still fleishigs from the last meal so you can't eat Milchigs but you can no longer eat any fleishigs because it's the 9 Days...

My rov says it's fine to give them regular melatonin on erev pesach

When my hunger finally catches up with me, that's when I usually break out a few boxes/bags of those potato crackers and eat them with cheese. (The chicken/potatoes meal comes later.) Also, pretty sure I eat more Pesach cookies (when the kids aren't watching) on Erev Pesach than I do the rest of Pesach. On Pesach itself I just eat matzah when hungry.

When my grandmother was alive we always went to pick up hamburgers and potatoes and grivens (onions?) so we didn’t starve erev pesach.

Starve? On Erev Pesach?!?!? In the morning we eat a big Chometz Breakfast before going to burn the Chometz. Then a late Lunch of delicious Pesach food, Soup, Chicken and Kugel. For those that are hungry between the large Breakfast and late Lunch they have some Leben/Yogurt or something Milchig and light.

Pesach is my favorite Yom Tov food-wise, with all the Chumros we have, the food is really pure and has a special delicious flavor

Minus the chometz food before the zeman (never have any time for that myself, and no interest in what I have left anyway)

I would put this in the popcorn thread but can't for obvious reasons.

I have a metal wire in my mouth, since I had braces. I stay away from hot chametz 24hiurs before last time to eat chametz.

simple solution....
1. Gargle water when sitting on a lit stove
2. Blow torch. Only problem with that is eating צלי on ליל הסדר

We're fleishophobes year-round and don't give it up for Pesach---our YT lunches and non-YT suppers are still milchig/pareve.

One of my kids raves about Pesach food, especially the milchigs. For sure, we eat more fresh vegetables, and almost nothing processed, so it's win-win.

Planning is key to having a good meal on Erebus Pesach. With all the cooking going on you just need to factor in Erez Pesach as an additional meal. Yapchik/ potato kugel, some vegetable soup and salad is what I grew up with
