Podcasting / Kosher Money
« on: March 24, 2023, 01:42:31 PM »
Hi everyone, it's Eli from Kosher Money.

The podcast with Dan and JJ be"H drops this coming Wednesday. Go easy on me if/when you listen as I'm sure a lot of it are things you know quite well. :-) I enjoyed the conversation very much and am appreciative they took the time. It runs close to 90 minutes, I think.

That said, if you did have a question about podcasting (or the millions of dollars we don't make on the podcast), hit me.

The irony, they did a lot of hating on CCs and downplaying the value of points. And outright lies about how Amex pays for your signup bonus.

See my post in the other thread. I wonder if it's a Dave Ramsey program

You posted here a meaningful people podcast and the above person is kosher money they are two different things entirely I don't think they have anything associated with each other.
The only difference between a good day and a bad day is your attitude(:

Eli runs them both.
Kosher Money is done by his brother but is produced by Eli himself. Theres also a few other podcasts that Eli produces. That's why he's a millionaire  ;).

Incorrect. Yaakov (Eli's brother) used to be co-host of Meaningful People but about half a year ago left. He has a similar (but honestly, very different) podcast called Inspiration for the Nation.

There is something not kosher about counting other people's money.

Didn’t have chance to listen yet. What did they say about how Amex pays for a sub? (Or what time stamp for me to quickly hear?)

They basically ignored interchange/merchant fees and pretended that Amex’s play is all about getting you to rack up CC debt. It might be true, but it’s far from the whole truth.

Interchange/merchant pays for the 10/15/etc% SUB? Isn’t that fee at or under 3% + basic fee for some transaction?

ETA:Or do cc’s chalk it up to customer acquisition cost hoping people will spend enough that the small difference between merchant fee and points given over time is still profitable for them?

This, which is why they cracked down on SUB abuse and churning of it.

For AMEX it is less true than it is for all of the other CC companies.

Hi Eli first of all welcome to ddf , I just watched the podcast and it was really fun listening to ,I enjoyed watching many of your other podcasts that you have in done  in the past but being that I'm an avid ddf member and ddfms follower for some time now this was my favorite one yet, if you can do a follow up podcast for senior ddfers after first spending like 10,000 hours reading ddf and ddfms posts that would be amazing!
