Re: Chase Sapphire Visa & MC, what to do?
« Reply #480 on: November 19, 2012, 05:06:19 PM »
That's funny I just spoke to a chase rep and I randomly asked if you earn 7% on bonus points and she said no. Who should I believe AsherO or a chase rep??   Ill go with AsherO

If you believe the rep..why do you HUCA?  whatever a rep says is the rule

Must be since some reps have no clue what they're saying there's a chance to get what you want by HUCA

I just spoke with a rep and they said the only way to get the MC if you already have the Visa is to have the Visa open for a year, and then call to switch.  The only way you can get the MC is if you apply directly from the MC website.

I initially tried to do that, but it did not work. I called Chase and they said i should apply and then call to have them make it a MC.

Since i had closed my Saphire Visa before i applied for my MC and now they said i couldn't get the MC, i have re-opened a new Saphire Visa. Hopefully i can HUCA and find someone who can switch my card over before one year.

What do I say in order to get the Visa in addition to my MC?

From Dan's post, he writes family dollar only accepts visa.

I have a Sapphire Preffered Visa, and ordered a Sapp Pref MC but got a letter stating I already have a Sapph pref, to call the number on my card???

Thanx
DanK
DON'T CALL THE NUMBER IN THE BACK OF YOUR CARD!
Call reconsideration and ask them to CLOSE the visa and open a MC not to conv. It or you will not get the signed up bonus!
That's what happened to me a few month ago after I called the number on the back of my card  :-[

So i applied for the sp mc, and got a letter stating that they see i already have a sp, and i should call the number on the back of my card to discuss  products. It is not like the denial letters ive gotten in the past from chase(too many open accounts etc) . For my purposes I assume i should call recon, since i think all the cs can do is switch my visa to a mc?

You currently have a Visa and got denied for the MC?  Call recon and give them a reason why you want both and offer to move CL over to the new card to have it approved...should work.

But you can still close an existing SP VS to push through an SP WMC or vice versa.

My Sapphire Preferred World Master Card was charged with the annual fee, any way to get it waved?

Either call up to get a retention bonus or IIRC if you cancel the card within 30days of the charge you get the charge back

Do you have another chase card?  Why don't you think you'll be approved again?

First if all don't believe everything recon tells you. Second..how often are you opening up cards?
