When I said 2 weeks it was in reply to being sent to Israel, I'm not sure how Jkhein got it so fast. When I did the switch over they did not close the first one right away (to paraphrase the CSR, we wouldn't want to leave you stranded even one day without a CC that would be terrible), I'm not sure when they did as the new card came pretty quickly to my US address and I started using the new number right away.

Would I have an easier time getting approved for another SP Visa if I offered to close and transfer the CL from my Saph WMC to the new SP Visa?

No, the visa still works for a while. Also if they downgrade you to the NP sapphire and then upgrade you, then the old sapphires will still work. Between 3 AU's and three incarnations of my card I have 9 cards accessing the same account.

I just got off the phone with them. They told me:

If we can do it, you'll receive a letter from us in the mail. If we can't we'll let you know within 24 hours.

I already downgraded my SP Visa to NP (Non-Preferred) Visa. I couldn't switch to WMC because my year was almost up and I would have gotten billed the annual fee, as I assume converting from SP Visa to WMC will not restart a free first year. (Am I wrong?).

Anyway, can I re-apply for SP Visa now that I downgraded to a NP Visa?
If yes, how long after the downgrade should I wait?

I've done it, although there was a long while in between
got the SP right when it came out (3-4 yrs ago?)with a 25k bonus, after a year downgraded, then got a new SP (and 50k bonus) about 6 months ago

I got mine switched to plain Saph WMC last week, but still haven't received my new WMC card in the mail.

Can I apply again for the Visa SP now or should I wait until I get my WMC Saph in the mail?

How long did it take other people who switched to get their Saph WMC? I called on Feb 22nd to switch and I still haven't received mine.
