I just got my credit line TXF from SP to Sapphire regular and got it closed. it was painful "selling" process by rep to keep it open and making us feel bad, that it is just opened for 2 months and you got bonus etc.... to asking us to keep it open. Any easy suggestion on getting CL TXF and closing account without going thru the rep and closing process? Can we just do it using Secured Message?

Instead of doing that use the card as leverage to get approved for more cards.

May be I dont get it. How can I leverage open SP card as leverage to get approval for another SP card? I think I have to Txf my CL. then close it. then reapply another SP. isnt that normal process? I always do the same all for churnable cards.

Nope, apply for a Visa or MC (whichever you don't have) and have them close the old one (have a good reason ready)

But I had Sapphire MC as well as SP VISA. so I Txf VISA CL. closed Visa. now will reapply.

Silly question. If the SP is canceled to open up a new one, do the points have to be moved to the Ink Bold account, or are they automatically linked, and n/t will be lost if the SP is canceled?

I would move points. I had 5 K AU that had not posted when I closed one card to open anotjer and never got the 5 K.

I applied for the sp wmc through the link on your website and received the visa. I called a couple of times and one person told me that i have to close my account and re-apply. the next person told me that it can only be changed after a year? How can i get the card changed?

HUCA, you need to explain you want the same card but with a MC logo for spend at mechants that only accept that.

@AsherO its not the same card with a different logo, they would need to change the card number.

Same card as in Sapphire Preferred > Sapphire Preferred.

I'm aware they'll change the number. AFAIK the old Visa card/number will still work as well (and show up online/on statement with the MC transactions).

Huh? Where did you apply.
In the OP of this post there are options for both versions.

The links look the same... I want to do a 2bm before the United card offer is pulled... can you check the links? Seems to be the same card to me! I need a valid link to the MC...

I have tried incongnito to try both links from Dansdeals link for credit cards (top of main site)... on the links provided the pages look exactly the same for the SP Visa and SP MC. The URL does differ from them however. Is there a way to know if I'm filling the Visa app or the MC one? Please if you know of a clear link to MC let me know because I really want to do the 2bm before the United offer goes and Dan just said it'll be pulled sometime Monday yet he doesn't know when....

That's an old link to the old 50k app and that's why it doesn't work, there always was a link for the MC if you knew where to look.

The two links differ as the MC has DWMH and Visa DWMG. I know of a different site that has this card and it's 100% a MC, the link there is the same (besides the affiliate id) as the DWMH.
