Annual fee posted and want to churn.
I would of opened a mc and told them to close the visa, but now that the mc link not working, I called up to convert it to mc and planned to open a new visa, as its not the same product.
They converted it for me, but said that for my benefit the visa still stays sort of active for their records for 60 days.
Will I have a prob applying for a new visa as I already have the product? (or both)

You can always apply for the Visa.  Worst case is they make you close your MC to get it approved.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I converted to MC but now have visa and MC showing active online. (no good because want to reapply for visa)
Chase told me that when I activate new MC, the visa will deactivate. Was it so in your experiences or  the visa was shut right away?

Make up a reason that explains why you need each card, e.g. MC for Sams Club and Visa for _______. If you sound convincing enough, they will buy it.

Do you need both? Hard to do at the moment ime. If not, just call recon and close the visa to open the mc

Did it a couple of months ago. Keeping both would retain the 7% on the OP's SPV.

I'm a newbie, got hooked on dansdeals 2 months ago, (I have 5 cards and counting) gotta learn by asking?  Also, just finished getting my spend bonus on the SP MC.

Good luck :) Definitely still doable IMHO.

The reason you'd want to keep your SPV (that's Sapphire Preferred Visa) is so that you can get your annual 7% bonus for that card. The 7% bonus posts in February, so if you earned your signup bonus this past year that's another 3-5k UR in your account.

If you (or anyone) gets a SP approved now, try to get the spend done ASAP so the points post before 12/31/2012. This way you'll get a 7% bonus on those points in a few months.

Is there any reason to keep the SPV after Feb?

Does the SPMC also have this 7% bonus on Feb?
It's not about the quantity of your posts.  It's about the quality.

IME this past Friday. Sapphire made a rule for chase reps that only 1 preferred card can be open at a time. Period.

That's funny I just spoke to a chase rep and I randomly asked if you earn 7% on bonus points and she said no. Who should I believe AsherO or a chase rep??   Ill go with AsherO
