At the seder I had been using a simple one with just instructions. My kids are young; I need to explain the basics to them and there isn't time for extras.
Agav, in shana rishona I was zoche to be by Rav Berkovits's seder. There were mostly adults at the seder, but the Rav simply read each paragraph and explained what was going on, then did the next one the same way. So I modeled my seder after his.
This year I printed out a hagada with stuff I want to say typed in. There's a mix of paragraph explanations for the adults and some silly stuff to keep the kids focused.

The Rav said something I never heard before, but maybe this is basic: "Ma nishtana" is a statement, not a question. It translates as "How different this night is from all the other nights!" (That explains "four questions" not five.)

interesting.
The lashon hamishna might be meduyak ...
מזגו לו כוס שני, וכאן הבן שואל אביו.
ואם אין דעת בבן, אביו מלמדו, מה נשתנה הלילה הזה מכל הלילות, שבכל הלילות.....
Perhaps it should have first said what the Ben is sho'el and then ואם אין דעת בבן, אביו מלמדו
Perhaps וכאן הבן שואל אביו. is referring to Stam all the questions of the night and ואם אין דעת בבן, אביו מלמדו is the statement.

Love that. I also try to prepare before Pesach on my own.

I stopped stuffing Dvar Torahs years ago, at most a few cute and short ones.
Story telling for the different ages and singing together.
I believe one of the important factors is happy family quality time intertwined with our heritage.
Missing one of those two defies the purpose in my opinion.

Even if your kids don't understand a British accent?

There is a great sefer that really depicts vividly the stories of Yetziyas Mitzrayim, in Hebrew, but in a very understandable way. Yalkut Me'am Loez - but not in the actual Hagaddah section. Instead, look in the section on the parsha. He goes through every makkah with spellbinding details. (The hagaddah part is great also, but I find the parsha part more exciting. The hagaddah part is printed in the back of that volume, on Shemos Va'aira and Bo.)

There's an english version based off the Matnas Chaim, done by someone i think from Forest Park area
Question Answer format and detailed Makkos etc
real game changer
I forget what its called
Made by someone Perlow, costs $36 but well worth it if you have kids.
This has now been printed by Israel Book Shop and distributed in stores. Called "Living the Hagaddah" IIRC.

R' Matisyahu Solomon ZT'L was British and therefore had that accent, not necessarily that that's the way to make it dramatic...

(Besides for your kids not understanding the accent, you can speak in a British accent?)

Malbim with intro, R' Paysach Krohn, and just a plain well printed one.
So I can read nicely,  say some  limited dvar Torah  and, more importantly,  tell stories.

I often keep a copy of this Haggadah on the table, and when I get to parts with a lot of saying (like Hallel), I use this. It's printed in the clear Artscroll format but with very little page turning.

Tidbits Haggadah for Pesach (Hebrew Edition) ($5.99)

Our family had a tradition of asking a question every year: How do we reconcile the statement 'Ani Vlo Malach' in the haggada with the fact that we needed to put blood on the doorpost for the angel to differentiate between Jews and non-Jews?

We eventually found an answer, but it's still a good question to ponder over.

I don't understand the question
