https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7085052329770504192Hi everyone, I got a lot of comments on my last post regarding BlackBird Financial LP, I would like to take a moment to clarify. I don't live in the Tri-State area, I live in Panama. I also don't read Ami Magazine. I guess you can say I'm out of touch with the situation on the ground.
A few of my friends have called me to explain why there is so much distrust around investing right now. They explained how many honest and hard-working people have been burned recently. I was not aware of the sensitivity of the situation.
I want to take a moment to mention the importance of every individual investor doing their own due diligence ANY time an investment is made in any type of business, fund, or real estate deal. Invest at your own risk, and always be discerning.
All that being said, BlackBird Financial LP is a New-Jersey based investment fund in which I have an investment.
After getting to know the Owner Judah Spinner, CFA, they offered to do a paid podcast, and ads to share with my audience.
While I’m careful with where I invest, I’m extra cautious when promoting a product to my audience. Therefore, before speaking a word publicly about BlackBird, I devoted a lot of time to complete my due diligence.
Here are the results of my vetting process:
1. Preqin ranked Blackbird #27 out of 4,000 on their performance amongst industry peers.
2. They have been in business since 2014.
3. They use NAV Fund Administration Group, to administer all their client's funds. Their contact at NAV is Deepak Sethi, he is very friendly and can be reached at: deepak.sethi@navconsulting.net
4. Judah Spinner, CFA is the Chief Investment Officer for BlackBird. He has a track record working at several firms before opening his own. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and is registered with FINRA. (Links to both in the first comment below).
5. Over the last 8.5 years they outperformed the S&P 500 (as is the industry standard, and they do not make any guarantees as to future returns).
6. They have over $60M AUB
After my vetting process, I felt comfortable doing a podcast, and ads with them.
There are much more qualified people in their company to answer your questions, but I wanted to address some of them here;
People commented that Blackbird reported a loss on their investments for YTD 2023, and to be honest I appreciated the company’s transparency.
All investment companies, including Warren Buffet’s, have years where they underperform the market. (Link in first comment below).
That being said, over the past 8.5 years, including the periods in which they underperformed the market, their long-term results are very good.
Of course, their investment strategy is not for everyone. It’s only for accredited investors with a long-term time horizon.
I hope this provides clarification. Feel feel to message Judah Spinner, CFA for any questions!
We should all be successful and G-d should Bless us in every area of life, including our investments.
