Do you realize that post is over 6 years old, was posted before you were born.

They definitely don't want it to work nationwide, the question is whether they have the ability to actually geo-restrict their coupons.
Odds are they don't, but if someone would like to TOFTT that would be great.  Worst case is that you get a refund via the groupon promise if it doesn't work.
