Wish List features:
- I'd love the ability to create alerts for Locations and Dates - i.e. I am looking to go to TLV around Thanksgiving, or I am looking for Pesach Tix to Florida. (i.e. Alert me for NYC-MIA for 4/1-4/30)
- I'd love to see  calculator to determine if a particular itinerary is cheaper to buy with miles or $$$
- Something that can help me determine what credit card to use when purchasing an item - i.e. scans amex offers or chase offers to find if I get $$ back for a specific deal
- Something that shows how much you've saved using DansDeals.


In general, maybe you can also scrape some ideas from the Woot! app - i.e. categorize deals in the app so we don't have to scroll - to top deals, but then also Baby, Travel, Electronics, Delivery Services, etc. Maybe some in-app exclusive deals.

Based on how ambitious some of the earlier requests were, I figured I'll add some more of my own:

-Button that will make an Amazon sale by hacking their network
-Option to create new flight paths for the time and places I need to go
-Paid option to also set prices for abovementioned flight paths
-Integrated map that does not include Cleveland
-A scratch-and-lick option to taste the food in TRs
-A deal that brings Moshiach

There already is some sort of DDMS app, I've been using it for a while.

It's just a web app of the main site but works for those that don't have a browser.

I'm pretty sure I found it somewhere around here, it's made by someone called apps4flip

There is already a DansDeals app, but it only works for flip phones.

It's an Android app (APK) so I do not believe it "ONLY WORKS FOR FLIP PHONES."

(As they note, it's just a wrapper around the website, and has no special functionality.)

Actually an app would be useful to me for one specific reason. I use WhatsApp exclusively for personal messaging so when I signed up for Whatsapp alerts it kept on disturbing me because I thought I was getting a message when it was actually a Dansdeals notification.

If there was a different icon (and notification sound) it would be better for me.

I currently use telegram for Dansdeals and other business stuff so it's not so bad. But it would also make it slightly better to know which notofication is for what.

Why not use a custom notification sound for that WhatsApp conversation?

What was the reason for creating it? Notifications?

Basically. Likely going to try to launch very simple and add features over time. So loving thr feedback and while unlikely to launch loaded with features, imyh it opens the possibility to a lot more customization than the regular site.

Basically any posts that save you money were written by JJ, and any posts that self-promote are from Dan, who BTW is six years older than JJ...

@jj1000 It would be great to have notification filters by category, importance ETC. (Price mistake, flight deals, credit card deals, alive again)

Also, filters by keyword, so I can choose to get notifications for certain custom filters I create.

I think with a much smaller audience the ability to do something and being good at it would be better served not focusing on so many features that TPG incorporates. Rather on a small set and do it great @jj1000 what are the main objectives of the app ?

If some of the goal of the app is to make DDMS available to those in our community who don’t have a browser on the phone, I wonder if it’s worth talking to any of the companies that filter smartphones or make kosher smartphones. Do you have to get apps ‘approved’ by them to be available on their phones?

I’m not sure how many people this is relevant for, so it may not be worthwhile, but it’s something to think about.

Reminds me of a quip I once heard from Rav Yisroel Reisman:
