The dose makes the poison.
Whenever you see an article about a harmful chemical it is important to keep in mind that anything is harmful at high quantities, and harmless at low enough. What you need to know is:
What is the dose that it starts to cause problems?
What is the exposure to the chemical you are actually receiving?
Route matters as well; inhaling is different then eating, which in turn is different then touching.
Is the chemical something your body can get rid of, or does it accumulate? (for example many heavy metals like mercury)
Your body is constantly exposed to toxins, many which your own body makes. This is why you have a liver and kidneys.
When you read these articles they always leave this information out. This isn't by accident, fear gets clicks and shares, which generate traffic, which generates $$$ (yes websites and health magazines also like money. who knew)
