Expedite Continental Signup Points?

Hi - I'm newbie here so thanks anyone who is willing to help

Anyone has some tips to share on what is the fastest way to get my sign up bonus miles from Continental ? I got my credit card two week ago and purchased something at the same day. I want to book a flight with those points but prefer to do it asap to prevent losing reward tickets.

Unfortunately, generally you have to wait until your statement closes before you can get your miles to post.

Depending on how long it is until then, you might be able to place a hold on your tickets over the phone with a representative.

I got my points on the spot when I called up and had a ticket on hold hay was about to expire. Only thing is these were 20 k points above the thirty which I had received already. Due to an error I didn't get fifty right away even though applied through personal targeted link for fifty.

They offer this for folks that like to pay all their bills at the same time of the month. So you may be able to call today and ask for a closing date of the 19th or 20th.

Many times this will backfire. Depending on when the request is placed it can push off the closing date for a month, rather than bring it closer.

I did this a couple of times to this particular card ( for a few people). I always come up with a story, and ask the rep why I need to change the statement date, but I always ask how this would reflect the first statement, they can check and see that before actually changing the date.
