Via Lucky,

Alaskan has announced that they will be partnering with Emirates.

Mileage earnings will start March 1 and burning at the end of 2012.

Great news after CO and UA dropped them last year.

Lets hope its decent rates and they allow F redemptions...

If only Alaskan would allow mixing partners...

CO didn't have F-couldn't book F on EK.
UA had F-and allowed F on EK.

That's my theory at least.

Alaskan allows F redemptions on AA, BA, CX and QF.

Although they don't allow for AF and KE.

My theory is that it's an EK rule, not an AS rule.

My guess is no F. Airlines are smart enough to know that all of the US based airlines issue miles like water and that F will be pushing the envelope and will soon be filled with screaming kids and J*ws

Makes sense.

Although, their business class seems just fine.

If I "need" a shower in-flight I can always just buy the F ticket on the really short flights...

And now Alaskan is offering double miles between March 1 and May 31.

MVP Gold is easy to get and with Emirates running some amazing sales, who's up for MR in EK F?

Maybe not quite MR worthy but sounds fun...

EK doesn't fly LAX-YVR.

No, you wouldn't be EK Elite because you are crediting all the miles to AS.

No great shakes unless you already are stockpiled with Alaska.
If you're like me and have SPG you're better off transferring to JAL for saver awards or EK for flex awards.
