Oh, I feel old fashioned! :)

My friend actually did call the Chabbad and they did not know of anything that is less than a 2 hour walk.

This can be a great opportunity for someone who wants a great deal at a great hotel and have a minyan with a sefer torah on Shabbos!!

Has anyone been to the Grand Canyon with kids?
Would it make sense to arrive at the south rim at about 1pm and spend the rest of the day there or is that too little time and one should be there earlier in order not to miss stuff?
Again, this is with kids (ages 2 and 4)

Appreciate whoever can help.

I would try to get there earlier. I am assuming you won't be doing any hiking but all the same there are many view points which take time. What time of year are you going?

This is for mid February. What would a day there look like with kids? Anything other than viewpoints.
I've been there myself a couple of times but way too long ago to remember details...
Thanks for advising.

The Grand Canyon village is a nice area. Lots of shops and just a fun place to visit. You can walk the rim trail which I think is stroller accessible.

Anything else? I saw there's a train and some kind of museum, worth the time?
Any idea how long the rim trail takes?

I didn't do the train as I went hiking but it seems like a good idea. Don't recall how long rim trail took me, it must have been approx an hour or so.

So my question again: Arriving at about 1pm should be enough to walk the whole rim trail, maybe drive some more in case some views are missed from the trail, and watch the sunset which on mid-February should be past 6pm, leaving time for at least one more activity such as the train or something else.
You're saying it doesn't make sense and arrival there should be in the morning? More time is needed for other activities? If yes, which?

you will miss some views from the trail no question about that, as the views are very different from the various view points. It is for sure doing some of them if not all.

I did not realize sunset is so late I had thought it would be around 430, but if Sunset is at 6 then 5 hours there should cut it.

Personally, my wife and I did a 60 minute helicopter tour. Not much else like it. ;)
