Now the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa shows available, is it walkable to shuls?
Should be; seems like half hour walk to Ahavas Torah: Scottsdale Torah Center- Rabbi Shushan.
I wonder if there are closer places though.

Phoenix and Scottsdale are within 5 minutes of each other.  What kind of hikes are you looking and for how long do you plan on staying?

If I remember correctly, it took me more than 45 minutes to walk there. His old shul was closer

I emailed the shul (office@ahavastorah.org) last week to find out some info about Shabbos during winter break and haven't heard back.

Is there anyplace to buy food for Shabbos?
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

If youre referring to Phoenix, there's a kosher grocery store called Kosher Corner. You can also check out Imperial as well.

What is the best time of year to go to Arizona? Summer seems to be very hot and winter seems to have a low of 55..

Fall, Spring is the best time to go.
October was amazing!

Btw the Flagstaff/ GC will be way colder the Phoenix.
