Grand Canyon National Park (South Rim)
There are two trails from the south rim that go down into the canyon (and all the way to the canyon floor, which is a strenuous multi-day hike). You can experience a taste of it, by turning around at any point.
  • South Kaibab Trail - One of the top rated trails for the GC (trail descends into the canyon, uphill climb on return)
  • Bright Angel Trail - Also one of the top rated trails for GC (trail descends into the canyon, uphill climb on return)
There are also trails along the south rim (called Rim Trails) that don't descend into the canyon, and are relatively flat. These offer views of the canyon and are dotted with various scenic viewpoints. Some areas of the rim trail are paved others are not. These may be more suitable those with young children or those fear of hiking near the edge of the canyon cliffs. The National park shuttle buses also transport passengers to various points within the park, along the south rim.
A PDF map of grand canyon national park south rim is at https://www.nps.gov/grca/learn/news/upload/sr-pocket-map.pdf
Grand Canyon National Park Lodges

Nearby attractions outside the National Park include:
  • Skywalk
  • Bearizona Wildlife Park - Williams, AZ

Lake Powell (popular lake for boating, with kayak, motor boat, pontoon boat, houseboat rentals, Jetski, boat tours, and swimming). Lake and surrounding canyon walls are uniquely scenic together (it's actually a huge artificial reservoir surrounded by canyon walls, resulting from the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam

Going to Scottsdale for Shavout and Phoenix for Shaabat.

Any ideas where i can either pickup take out for the meals or any restaurants that i can sit down for shavour/shaabat meals?
I got a villa with a kitchen so i also wouldnt mind picking up food before and heating it up in my kitchen

Other people have said it was fine.  I personally couldn't handle it.  Especially with 4 young kids...can you watch them all in the pool at once?  That would be the fun thing to do there during the day.  If your car is parked uncovered anywhere they could burn themselves on the seats every time you get in the car....if you haven't experienced heat like this, it's a whole different world.

Depends what you have in mind.  Phoenix area IS way too hot.  Too hot for pool, even, IMO; I couldn't handle it past 9 or 10 am.  But go up north toward Flagstaff and Grand Canyon and it's not too bad that time of year.

Im in scottsdale now and want to go ATV/UTV . Can anyone recommend a guided tour that they went on?

How about ATV vs Jeeping? I heard the ATV isnt able to go everywhere, but i feel like i would rather drive my own vehicle than sit in a jeep

http://www.arizonaatvadventures.com/sedona-atv-tours/
I found that one, anyone try it?

I am heading to Scottsdale now for 3 or 4 days( wife wants to leave Tuesday midnight , I want Wednesday midnight).  Can someone please give me some info on a good ATV place?
Is it worth it to take one day and drive to Sedona & then the Grand Canyon? Feels like it would be a looong day. If it's worth it I'm up for it.
Appreciate any insight  thanks

Go to the Grand Canyon. You really don't have time to do anything worthwhile in Sedona.  (Unless you skip the Grand Canyon)

Isn't Sedona on the way to the Grand Canyon from Scottsdale?  If I'm only going 3 days total.... do I spend a full day driving up and then back down from the Grand Canyon.

I thought you only wanted to do a one day trip.  If you can stay overnight then I would recommend driving straight to Grand Canyon and staying overnight there.  stopping in Sedona if you have time on the way back.

I'd probably do 613 grill as a nice ambience and Segal's is hit or miss BUT it does have a much larger menu and good Chinese...if you're not set on meat, I'd choose La Bella over both.

Long. Should def do it after you go to Sedona. There is a Hyatt in Sedona you can stay for the night.
