Grand Canyon National Park (South Rim)
There are two trails from the south rim that go down into the canyon (and all the way to the canyon floor, which is a strenuous multi-day hike). You can experience a taste of it, by turning around at any point.
  • South Kaibab Trail - One of the top rated trails for the GC (trail descends into the canyon, uphill climb on return)
  • Bright Angel Trail - Also one of the top rated trails for GC (trail descends into the canyon, uphill climb on return)
There are also trails along the south rim (called Rim Trails) that don't descend into the canyon, and are relatively flat. These offer views of the canyon and are dotted with various scenic viewpoints. Some areas of the rim trail are paved others are not. These may be more suitable those with young children or those fear of hiking near the edge of the canyon cliffs. The National park shuttle buses also transport passengers to various points within the park, along the south rim.
A PDF map of grand canyon national park south rim is at https://www.nps.gov/grca/learn/news/upload/sr-pocket-map.pdf
Grand Canyon National Park Lodges

Nearby attractions outside the National Park include:
  • Skywalk
  • Bearizona Wildlife Park - Williams, AZ

Page AZ
Lake Powell (popular lake for boating, with kayak, motor boat, pontoon boat, houseboat rentals, Jetski, boat tours, and swimming). Lake and surrounding canyon walls are uniquely scenic together (it's actually a huge artificial reservoir surrounded by canyon walls, resulting from the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam

Checkout is 8 pm?
Obviously he's asking if there'd be any way to checkout 8pm.

Looks like in the end I found a hyatt regency 20min walk from Chabad in scottsdale.. any way to not have to pay for motzei shabbos if shabbos is over at 730 and checkout at 8?
Never heard of such a thing, with the exception of Israel.

I’m planning to visit Scottsdale soon, I’m looking for a high-end hotel (any brand) preferably something that can be booked with free night vouchers or points,
I see so many nice ones and it’s hard too choose, can someone please advise?

Preferable but not necessity,
Resort style,
Private pool,
On site attractions.

Any advice is very appreciated!

Sorry, I totally misunderstood - due to way it was worded it sounded to me like checkout was at 8pm but it isn't late enough since its only 1/2 hr after Shabbos is over.  I was quite surprised that there's even such a thing as checkout at 8 so I questioned it. My bad.

Hi I'm in middle of intense itinerary planning for mid of March of AZ UT and NV...
I plan on doing Bryce in half a day till sunset, and Zion the next first part of day, I have a reservation in Springdale for that in between night, but I hear the drive from Bryce to Zion is really dangerous at night through the 89 and Zion Park,
My question is how bad is it and would it be better to take a 45 minute longer route going west to the 15 then coming in from the west to Springdale. Is that way better or both ok or both not recommend and stay instead in panguitch near Bryce?
Thanks

I don’t know about dangerous. But it’s one of the most beautiful drives in the US and I wouldn’t skip it.

You mean that you wouldn't skip it by day and that should do it in daylight?

Don't know which direction you're coming from, but we got to Bryce at night and drove up to a gorgeous starry lookout , hiked the next day and drove on in the afternoon. I found that being in the place the night before worked out very well for us.

I'm being in Bryce late Monday and want to be in Zion Tuesday morning so if the drive on the 89 and 9 scary in the dark? Think I was pretty clear in the original question

I would recommend staying over in/near Bryce.

I personally don’t think it is. But it’s subjective.
