Grand Canyon National Park (South Rim)
There are two trails from the south rim that go down into the canyon (and all the way to the canyon floor, which is a strenuous multi-day hike). You can experience a taste of it, by turning around at any point.
  • South Kaibab Trail - One of the top rated trails for the GC (trail descends into the canyon, uphill climb on return)
  • Bright Angel Trail - Also one of the top rated trails for GC (trail descends into the canyon, uphill climb on return)
There are also trails along the south rim (called Rim Trails) that don't descend into the canyon, and are relatively flat. These offer views of the canyon and are dotted with various scenic viewpoints. Some areas of the rim trail are paved others are not. These may be more suitable those with young children or those fear of hiking near the edge of the canyon cliffs. The National park shuttle buses also transport passengers to various points within the park, along the south rim.
A PDF map of grand canyon national park south rim is at https://www.nps.gov/grca/learn/news/upload/sr-pocket-map.pdf

Nearby attractions outside the National Park include:
  • Skywalk
  • Bearizona Wildlife Park - Williams, AZ

Lake Powell (popular lake for boating, with kayak, motor boat, pontoon boat, houseboat rentals, Jetski, boat tours, and swimming). Lake and surrounding canyon walls are uniquely scenic together (it's actually a huge artificial reservoir surrounded by canyon walls, resulting from the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam

Drive from GC to Flagstaff and enjoy going to sleep 45 minutes earlier than you would if you would drive so Sedona. Wake up and spend those 45 minutes driving to Sedona :)
Normally I'm a big fan of driving at night. But in this case, IIRC, it's a really nice drive from Flagstaff to Sedona. It might be worth doing it in the morning when you can appreciate it.

Any ideas for my next vacation? I absolutely loved Arizona, and I'm looking for a place that is similar to Arizona for right before Pesach time.

Flagstaff Looks like it could be in Upstate NY, Sedona is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been The Hilton Garden Inn in Flagstaff is pretty much a airport hotel but in Sedona most places will be more Resort style  (although I think on Groupon Getaways they have something now)

If I stay in FT the night, I only got a 45 minute drive in the morning until I get to Sedona.
Advantages:
1) Shorter drive Wed. night (don't forget I'm doing the big LAS-GC drive on Wed morning).
Besides, I'm really not delving into the hotel for this night because all we want is to get some rest and we'll be checking out in the morning.

Surprised that Sedona isn't mentioned there. Maybe because, although people say it's a beautiful place, nobody has a clue what can be done/seen there?
I officially have a day set for Sedona, but I'm starting to think that I will need to make other plans as I have yet to find a reason to visit there..

It is a beautifull and pleasant city. The red rocks are really cool and you can do jeeping with little kids, just pick a company that is not to extreme. For sure you can spend half a day without even trying. There are also some really nice nature walks.

Though on Jan 17-

Pink Jeep tours on the red rocks. Worth every penny! Also there are  many nice hikes around the area, which take in the rocks.

Surely not a first, and you even responded to it  ???

About the wiki, it needs some work. Will update when I get the chance.

How many days?

I was in the Marriott in Flagstaff for 1 night, it was cheap ($60ish) and was very nice. Had a nice view...

I wouldn't recommend if you are looking to stay for a few days, I was just passing thru. I went to the Grand Canyon the following morning.

Sedona is a real nice place if you come there straight from the city, but if you drive through Utah to get there you'l have a hard time figuring out what's so special about SEDONA's red rocks...

I would disagree depending on the age and personality of the children. Some trails are more "extreme" than others and if you ask the company they can recommend a trail for you based on this. Children regularly go on jeep tours. It is safe to say as a Sedona native I went on quite a few.
