Yet another passport question

Traveling to EU/Israel this summer from the US. US Passport expires two and a half months after I leave and will be back in US before it expires. Have an Israeli passport that's good for a while and no visa needed for the EU for that.
I should be alright using the israeli passport to get into the EU, right? I prefer not to send the passport in for renewal now and risk getting stuck without a US passport with all the delays going on but will do that if there's a chance a check in agent will cause problems at the airport in the US.

As far as I know you should not have an issue
The law says you need to depart on your US passport doesn't say you need to check in for your flight on it.
Just make sure you have both with you (and enter the EU on the Israeli one)
