ISO Good Cotton Dress Socks
« on: May 23, 2023, 11:25:46 PM »
Time to replace my sock collection. DW appreciates that I have one kind of sock, all the same type, as there's no need to match any.

I'm looking to buy new ones as my old ones are starting to wear out. (Will throw out all the old ones so they don't get mixed up. )

Having a bit of trouble finding soemthing that works:

- Black dress socks (thin)
- Minimum 75% cotton (prevents sweating)
- All black, not a pack with some black and some other colors
- Good quality, not something that will strech out quickly
- Bonus points if they don't cost a fortune

Any suggestions? TIA.

There is a thread on this but I find TH and Uniqlo to be good.

- Minimum 75% cotton (prevents sweating)
Bonus points if they have ~70% cotton or more to reduce sweating...
70% or 75% ? :)

Got super comfortable 100% cotton black socks from sockz.com

Took a while to arrive and seems to run a bit small.

I've been getting these for a while now. It's bamboo, not cotton, but also good for sweating.

Have yet to find something good as well. (I'm not particularly looking for dress socks)

I was looking into merino wool but didn't buy anything yet, anyone have and like?

Merino wool dress socks? 100% likely wouldn’t be very durable

It's usually not 100% merino wool. Darn Tough has a lifetime guarantee they'll replace it easily.

Looking for the same. Was about to start a new thread. Been buying from Costco the TH for a while but they're a tad too thick for the summer.
So need some new ones.

Discovered a random brand in the Mir's TAT store called Daniel Leven (?) or something. @yfr bachur Haven't looked back. The socks are 97% cotton, airy, comfortable... They don't last forever and they cost good money, but totally worth it. My brothers ask me to send them these socks and rave about how good they are.
I googled them and came up empty (even when I knew what the brand was).

They also make other articles of clothing, including jackets. But I've never seen them anywhere other than the TAT store.

It's a yeshivish israeli "brand" sold for regular brand name prices. you can find it in places like xsos or hamakom hanachon.

I've had good experience with Calvin Klein.
Same I originally purchased in Century and haven’t wore another brand since.
I look out for them in Burlington and Marshall’s where they are $10. Otherwise I believe DSW is the cheapest at $17.
