Oculus never aimed to be for daily tasks. It's in the Nintendo category, not computing. And Google Glass was ages ago.

Is Google Glass really the comp for this? Feels more like a computer replacement...alas who knows what the later versions will make feasible/seem realistic.

Pre-order starts next week, I still can't wrap my head around this (pun intended).

It looks so bizarre, especially thinking of the person gesturing into the air.

We went from consolidating lots and lots of physical things (phone, calculator, planner, rolodex, etc..) and putting them in your pocket, then on your wrist and now on your head?? What's next, a whole group of people around the table wearing these things and communicating via facetime instead of literally talking in person?

I do know one thing, this version has 2 - 2.5 hours of battery life which means next years will have 5 hours

I'd love a poll gauging how many people think this will or won't be successful, in how many years, how prevalent, etc.

Also, without getting into a discussion of internet in general, Shabbos is awesome. No matter how ubiquitous technology has or will become, one day a week we (can) simply disconnect.

Many will buy it, you see it around a ton but it wont be fully inergrated till it becomes more “wearable”

I’m not predicting, but I can see it becoming useful and ubiquitous like a MacBook Pro, a good expensive device for someone that has the business use for it. I’m hoping it does not become practical for personal use.

I don't see this being the next groundbreaking product.

I think it will remain a niche product (perhaps in the gaming field)

I don't think most people will be walking around with these in the near future.
