Can anyone please explain what it means practically speaking for the air quality to be over 300? How long does it take for someone outside to get really affected?
Like with COVID, it depends. What kind of pollutants, how long you're exposed, condition of your lung. Someone with asthma or other respiratory issues might become short of breath within minutes. To reach that state with healthy lungs would require longer exposure...or short exposure at increased need for deep breathing, ie, running, exercise.
Concern is also for symptoms that might take longer to manifest, due to inhaling particulate matter.
