Question: Is there a way to pay for an upgrade on a ticket? I know Delta flashes them nonstop in your face, looking for a similar option on AA, does that exist?

Sure, it just might be costly... If its on basic restricted economy then not.

I hear, I did not see that, but its largely an outdated thread since aa switched award pricings, and its limited to AA. I think this can really be the start of something new here on DDF

Do you know where to find that? When I choose a seat, the section for first class does not appear on seating chart, and I cannot find any where to pay to upgrade. If you know where that would be helpful

If there are seats available for higher classes, it usually shows up when you pull up the booking. No need to go anywhere.

Haven’t seen it and there are definitely first class seats available, and I am yet to see it on any reservation. I know Delta its like that, have not seen it on american yet

It 100% exists. although I don't have any DP on domestic. Only Itnl.

Sometimes it doesn't.

He's probably referring to the ability to get upgrades on award tickets

I actually found this on my wife’s reservation, and only on the website NOT on the app. she does not have status (I have and requested an upgrade, maybe that is why I can’t see it.)
But I did see a particular chisaron that I know Delta is good with, that upgrades don’t earn loyalty points. Delta gives extra MQM’s for upgrades and they count for MqDs

Incorrect. Flagship lounge has been renamed however a club membership or 1 time pass will only work in an Admirals club. The 3 new lounges are 1. One world sapphire/ flagship business. 2. One world emerald. 3.flagship first.( there is a bit more to the access rules however this is the basic rules)
