If it's a good deal it might make sense to buy some miles directly from AA

I don’t think so I think you add them as an employee not on the card but on the aa business account

+1 done it many times. AA will actually automatically convert it themselves and it will have the correct info.

I just realized that my  AA account miles all expired on May 11 2025 ( 4 days ago!) . Called them and they said I have to pay $450, open a CC or fly to get them back. Any ideas how to reinstate them without paying! I never got any email regarding expiration and my last flight was may 11 2023.

Ask for a manager or supervisor. Got them reinstated/reactivated instantly.
