Looks like a killer signup bonus, though the points might be worth less considering they give 1.5 points per $1 (AUD) spent. Looks like the signup promo would equal 102k VS if you can earn it this month. They transfer to 7 airlines, anyone know which ones besides Qantas and Virgin (VS)?

If they offer no foreign transaction fee, this might be the way to go if you can figure out an easy way to pay it (quickly before the exchange rate shifts too much).

Looks like the lineup is Velocity (1:1), Qantas (?, not even sure they're a partner), TH (4:3), CX (4:3), SQ (1:1), VS (1:1), MH (4:3), and Air NewZealand (100:1).

They also transfer to Hilton (1:1), SPG (3:1) PC (1:0.6) Jumeriah (30:1).

Didn't notice the annual fee, whether it's refundable might depend on the AU laws. Severely outdated information on Amex.au is not cool!

Does Amex Australia give refunds on the annual fee?
I don't think they do.
I dont have firsthand knowledge of AMEX, but other Australian Credit Card issuers are much tighter with these things than in the USA.
So 80,000 points for $900 annual fee = not so worth it.

There appears to be a benefit included which gives you a free economy class ticket to one of 7 international locations - couldn't get much detail, but that might offset the fee.
