Also some people become a year younger in these situations and then they definitely wouldn't require any ID... But have to be sure this person is up to it, not recommend for everyone.

Friend of a friend called up one of the airlines on a lark when he was seventeen and asked for a senior-citizen's discount because "he identified as one." After getting sent up the chain three time, he hung up, because he hadn't actually been serious. (He says he was expecting a good laugh from the rep and then being hung up on, but instead he got a lot of nervousness and being sent up the chain.)
