One change that was made to those rules is that they are allowing umbrellas.
Which is impressive considering that at regular Metlife Stadium events, the stadium doesn't allow umbrellas!

not sure, this info came a couple weeks ago with a large ticket order that my father made for his shul.  The umbrella change was made yesterday.

Can anyone speak to how strict they will be with bags? mine is slightly over the 12x12 since its a laptop bag used for work.

It was in the Yated and Hamodia. Mysiyum.com wasn't the official siyum hashas website (there is none). It was setup by Partners in Torah to try to get less affiliated jews to come. They bought 10,000 tickets marketed to people who otherwise wouldn't have come.
Why not?
For safety and line-of-sight reasons,

generally the line of sight is a big issue.  If I am at a football game then I dont want the person in front of me having an open umbrella blocking my view of the field.  I guess this isnt as important for the Siyum.
There are also safety issues but I guess the Agudah talked the stadium officials into allowing it.

Speaking from the experience of going to Jets games, they will be strict to the letter of the rule.  I wouldnt chance it unless you feel comfortable checking in your laptop bag at the gate for $5 and the inconvenience of having to get it back after the siyum

Meaning they would pull out a ruler and measure it? Or maybe they will be more lenient since its not a game?

reliability concerns? People are likely to get poked in the eye when crammed 90K people together and they all open umbrellas at once...

My packing list (in no specific order), what do you think:

Artscroll Niddah II
Water (in several 20oz bottles)
Hotdogs for dinner
Binoculars
Umbrella
Rain poncho
Towel
Canon point-and-shoot camera
Small flask (not sure about this item, to do or not to do?)
iPod Nano

Anything else I should (or shouldn't be packing)?

they have a thing that they measure it against.  Maybe they will be more lenient but I wouldnt count on it.

I thought the rules say no cameras but I am not sure how strict that will be. The flask depends what it is filled with.  the water officially is 1 20 oz bottle per person but again I do not know if they will be strict on that. Everything else looks good

sorry, on second look the issue with cameras are only for commercial cameras.  you will be fine with a point and shoot
