Missed Chase bonus mileage spending by a few days

Hi,
I signed up for Chase Sapphire Preferred with bonus of 80k (for spending $4k in 3 months). I thought I still had another week or so. I called them and they told me the card was opened on 5/23 so I missed it...
Is there any recourse (CS said no)? TIA!

The first thing you do is finish the spending, then appeal.

Thank you.
So (despite being told by them on the phone, several times, that there is NO way they can do anything) I actually sent them a secure message, also writing that some emergency family things came up during the summer - (true) and they replied that I they are extending the deadline (by over 3 weeks)!
