Think of Moving?

Airports:
  • CLE is about 15 minutes from downtown and 25-30 minutes from the Jewish community.  It's a focus city for Frontier, Spirit, and United.
  • The RTA (Rapid transit train) at Brookpark station has free parking and is just 1 train stop (3 minutes) to the stop inside the airport. The train costs $2.50 and the schedule is here: http://www.riderta.com/routes/redline/schedules/current#WestboundWeekday
An uber from Brookpark station to CLE is about $10.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CLE is about $30.
  • CLE off-site parking is about $9/day, on-site parking is $17-$22/day, and curbside valet parking is $35/day.
  • CAK is ~40 minutes from the Jewish community and located nearby the NFL Hall of Fame.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CAK is about $45.
  • CAK parking is $7/day for long-term and $15-$18/day for short-term.
  • PIT is ~100 minutes from the Jewish community. It offers nonstop service to London, Montreal, and more.

Hotels:
  • There is a Hyatt Place in Legacy Village within walking distance of the Jewish community, though it's located just outside of the Eruv. It costs only 8K points/night.
  • There is a nice Hyatt Regency downtown for 12K points/night (25 minutes drive) in a unique vintage arcade building and an excellent spa that gives hotel guests 25% off and accepts SpaFinder certs from Costco that can be purchased for an additional 20% off.
  • The nicest hotel in Cleveland is like the Ritz-Carlton downtown. Marriott's Metropolitan at The 9 is also highly regarded, with a bar in an old vault. There is also a Hilton, Westin, and Kimpton downtown.

Transportation:
  • There is a subway/light rail connecting the airport with downtown, University Circle (where the Case campus and many museums are) and the Jewish community area, but renting a car is pretty much required unless you are just going between the airport and downtown.

Your best bet would be Khal Yereim @ corner of Taylor and Shannon.

If he gets in exactly before 9:15 there are 2 9:00 AM minyanim. Shomre Shabbos and Beis Doniel (3795 Severn) - these 9's are till Rosh Chodesh only... After the 9's he'll prob get minyan at Khal Yereyim (though he may have to wait some as the 9-915 traffic go to the other shuls)

You may have to go to Cleveland Heights then... There is 830 at Beachwood Kollel, only  hope after that is if the Alexander Shteebel has something, but I'm not up to date with them...

Someone should truck it in and make a fortune.
This stuff is the real deal.  I've yet to find someone not astounded by it.
Cookie Dough and Peanut Butter Cup are just insane.

I guess I should spend more time reading through the DD Forums!  I met your brother JJ yesterday and he told me I should check it out, thanks for the tip JJ.

Thank you Dan for all the compliments and shout-outs throughout the different threads!  If you don't mind me using this post to advertise for a second, if anybody is interested in receiving our weekly ice cream emails that list all the flavors of the week, you can just email me at orders@shannonroadicecream.com and I'll add you to the list.  Or, you can go to our webpage and fill in your info to be added as well, if you'd like to be part of our text list, just put in your cell phone number as well.

Thanks again!

+1. I think the owner is nuts for not moving to NYC and selling it locally there. Every shabbos table in NY would be eating it.

I also happen to think the owner is nuts for many different reasons, but refusing to move back to NYC is not one of them!

 ;)

please god, in a week or two, I plan on flying down to Cleveland to pick out my suite for the Cavs at Quicken loans arena. Once I am coming down, I think I want to stay for one night and two days.

I have a bunch of different types of points, so that isn't an issue.

What's the best way to fly? Avios, no? What's the best hotel to stay near the arena? What's the best restaurant? Finally, what are some other activities you recommend me doing when I come?

TIA! I haven't been in Cleveland yet, and am looking forward. Perhaps, we can have a DO. I always wanted to join a Cleveland one. :)
To the nOObs out there, feel free to PM with q's. #AlwaysTakesTheHighRoad #LovesHashTags

I'm having a similar issue except I'm with my wife + two kids :),
I really want to experience CLE for a Shabbos, I tried going on shabbat.com but its so random, besides the fact that I haven't a clue in which neighborhood to focus on.

Any suggestions?

Anywhere to make a Bank of America deposit in CLE? Google Maps shows only ATMs, not branches - is that accurate? And if yes, do any of the ATMs accept deposits?
