Think of Moving?

Airports:
  • CLE is about 15 minutes from downtown and 25-30 minutes from the Jewish community.  It's a focus city for Frontier, Spirit, and United.
  • The RTA (Rapid transit train) at Brookpark station has free parking and is just 1 train stop (3 minutes) to the stop inside the airport. The train costs $2.50 and the schedule is here: http://www.riderta.com/routes/redline/schedules/current#WestboundWeekday
An uber from Brookpark station to CLE is about $10.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CLE is about $30.
  • CLE off-site parking is about $9/day, on-site parking is $17-$22/day, and curbside valet parking is $35/day.
  • CAK is ~40 minutes from the Jewish community and located nearby the NFL Hall of Fame.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CAK is about $45.

Hotels:

  • The nicest hotel in Cleveland is like the Ritz-Carlton downtown. Marriott's Metropolitan at The 9 is also highly regarded, with a bar in an old vault. There is also a Hilton, Westin, and Kimpton downtown.

Transportation:
  • There is a subway/light rail connecting the airport with downtown, University Circle (where the Case campus and many museums are) and the Jewish community area, but renting a car is pretty much required unless you are just going between the airport and downtown.

Went to Chef Dave's last night because the Menu looked so darn good. Here's what I got.

"BBQ Steak Sliders Horseradish mayo and baby spinach on mini challah rolls"

The steak was cold, if ordered you must request them to make sure the meat is served warm, the Challah rolls are pretty plain and didn't taste very good, their biggest problem was the size, sliders need small buns especially when there is such little meat. I liked the taste, but if I ordered it again it needs at least double meat if not triple for that size bun.

"Toasted Ravioli Panko-coated, deep-fried pumpkin ravioli"

Definitely skip this. The thick breading made the main flavor of this dish into fried oil. It was so overwhelming with an oil taste I couldn't enjoy it. I tried the inside pumpkin and it was a nice flavor, but the breaded outside is just too strong a taste to enjoy it.

"Soup Du Jour Wild mushroom beef & barley"

This is cholent soup. And that isn't a bad thing because the flavor was pretty good. It is  a hearty mushroom barley soup with generous portions of meat, as opposed to a creamy soup. It had a very good taste and was the first thing that I was enjoying, at first the cholent flavor was hard to get past, but it really does taste good.

"Smoked BBQ Veal Chop - 16oz Bone-In
Lightly smoked with applewood and finished on the grill with our BBQ sauce.
Served with roasted rainbow carrots & zucchini and smokehouse-spiced French fries. "

Veal chop was AMAZING!!! When we drove up to young israel we commented how it smelled really good out here, that was the veal cooking inside a smoker with applewood flavor. The meat was so tender and flavorful I couldn't get enough of this. You have to enjoy a smokey BBQ flavor, but this veal was a real treat and made my night. Easily the best veal I've ever had. The grilled veggie medley underneath the steak also had a nice smokey finish that complimented the veal well. The house fries have a nice rub on them to add some flavor.

I was in a rush so that's all I had for the meal, I wish I had skipped the apps and just gotten the soup and veal, as the menu changes I guess it's hit or miss. If anyone goes and orders the Truffle risoto give me a ring because I want to try that.

Also does anyone have a car seat we can borrow for a week?
