Think of Moving?

Airports:
  • CLE is about 15 minutes from downtown and 25-30 minutes from the Jewish community.  It's a focus city for Frontier, Spirit, and United.
  • The RTA (Rapid transit train) at Brookpark station has free parking and is just 1 train stop (3 minutes) to the stop inside the airport. The train costs $2.50 and the schedule is here: http://www.riderta.com/routes/redline/schedules/current#WestboundWeekday
An uber from Brookpark station to CLE is about $10.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CLE is about $30.
  • CLE off-site parking is about $9/day, on-site parking is $17-$22/day, and curbside valet parking is $35/day.
  • CAK is ~40 minutes from the Jewish community and located nearby the NFL Hall of Fame.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CAK is about $45.
  • CAK parking is $7/day for long-term and $15-$18/day for short-term.

Hotels:
  • There is a Hyatt Place in Legacy Village within walking distance of the Jewish community, though it's located just outside of the Eruv. It costs only 8K points/night.
  • There is a nice Hyatt Regency downtown for 12K points/night (25 minutes drive) in a unique vintage arcade building and an excellent spa that gives hotel guests 25% off and accepts SpaFinder certs from Costco that can be purchased for an additional 20% off.
  • The nicest hotel in Cleveland is like the Ritz-Carlton downtown. Marriott's Metropolitan at The 9 is also highly regarded, with a bar in an old vault. There is also a Hilton, Westin, and Kimpton downtown.

Transportation:
  • There is a subway/light rail connecting the airport with downtown, University Circle (where the Case campus and many museums are) and the Jewish community area, but renting a car is pretty much required unless you are just going between the airport and downtown.

A little too far to travel for ribs, but thanks

Unless they're coming to BCN, I don't think I'll be able to taste it

it's not the same as fresh, but a friend can buy and freeze the smoked chicken or ribs and you can enjoy it 2-3 weeks later. (In fact, I think that my cousin in IL may do that for us now that I think about it.)  Ribs may freeze better than the chicken. We'll find out. 8)

Hmmm. Might actually do that.

First Energy Solutions has cancelled its contract with NOPEC which administered the municipal aggregation for numerous Cleveland area municipalities. This will erase the discount FES offered but also allow customers to choose other suppliers who,IF DONE PROPERLY, can save more than they had been with NOPEC. Expect all the opportunists to suddenly pop up. If you choose to look into other suppliers make sure it is with someone who understands the ins and out of the market and will help you avoid them. Otherwise you can lose more than you gain.

Here are some articles on the subject which are written mostly from the NOPEC point of view with a sprinkling of FES without much real reporting on the matter.

http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2016/10/firstenergy_solutions_cancels.html
BTW the "fees" mentioned in this article are a profit being paid to the "non-profit" NOPEC probably in the millions.

http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2016/10/firstenergy_nopec_locked_in_co.html

http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2016/11/the_nopec-firstenergy_solution.html

FYI for all Illuminatin Company customers.

The NOPEC rates for those under option 1 (the one you land on by default if you do nothing) of 0.0599 are currently higher than the price you would get by opting out from NOPEC and buying your electricity directly from The Illuminating Company which is 0.058. If you choose option 2 then our rate is guaranteed to be 6% lower than buying directly. This option is only availble to about 7000 customers and can only be obtained by calling NOPEC at 1-855-NOPEC-01 (1-855-667-3201). The other option is to call the utility and ask to remove NOPEC or to switch to an alternate supplier.
Feelings don't care about your facts
