Think of Moving?

Airports:
  • CLE is about 15 minutes from downtown and 25-30 minutes from the Jewish community.  It's a focus city for Frontier, Spirit, and United.
  • The RTA (Rapid transit train) at Brookpark station has free parking and is just 1 train stop (3 minutes) to the stop inside the airport. The train costs $2.50 and the schedule is here: http://www.riderta.com/routes/redline/schedules/current#WestboundWeekday
An uber from Brookpark station to CLE is about $10.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CLE is about $30.
  • CLE off-site parking is about $9/day, on-site parking is $17-$22/day, and curbside valet parking is $35/day.

  • The nicest hotel in Cleveland is like the Ritz-Carlton downtown. Marriott's Metropolitan at The 9 is also highly regarded, with a bar in an old vault. There is also a Hilton, Westin, and Kimpton downtown.

Transportation:
  • There is a subway/light rail connecting the airport with downtown, University Circle (where the Case campus and many museums are) and the Jewish community area, but renting a car is pretty much required unless you are just going between the airport and downtown.

I'm from NY and think CLE is awesome.
Cheap housing
Nice Aesthetics
Welcoming community
Good Shopping
Job Opp not bad

Too bad my wife disagrees
That's because it is awesome :D
Add near-zero crime in Beachwood and the peaceful hum of suburban bliss.  All while being just a half hour from a rapidly rejuvenating downtown and even great beaches.

I'm not totally crazy for settling down here, if every winter was like this past one I would never even doubt myself!

maybe your wife will like pittsburgh
That place is a #$%^hole :D

Ugly, really old, and expensive housing, much higher crime, dirty as NY, much more traffic, not a single fleishig restaurant, and based on 3 years of yeshiva there, a rather strange jewish community.

Actually downtown is in rapid growth now:
http://www.cleveland.com/pdgraphics/index.ssf/2012/04/downtown_is_now_clevelands_fas.html
http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2012/03/downtown_cleveland_is_on_the_r.html

3 sports arenas, science center, the great lakes microbrewery, and the rock hall of of fame all downtown and Ohio's first casino opens up downtown in the next month and Starwood is opening a Westin and an Aloft downtown!

More importantly Chabad of downtown is finally going to open their doors :)

And there are plenty of great beaches and islands on and in Lake Erie and they're nothing to sneeze at!

+1

Also don't miss Jalapeno or Garlic Bagels from the Bagel Shoppe, though call early to order and note that they close at about 2:30.
May also be worth ordering the donuts in advance from Ungers, many a time I go down there and strike out.
