Think of Moving?

Airports:
  • CLE is about 15 minutes from downtown and 25-30 minutes from the Jewish community.  It's a focus city for Frontier, Spirit, and United.
  • The RTA (Rapid transit train) at Brookpark station has free parking and is just 1 train stop (3 minutes) to the stop inside the airport. The train costs $2.50 and the schedule is here: http://www.riderta.com/routes/redline/schedules/current#WestboundWeekday
An uber from Brookpark station to CLE is about $10.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CLE is about $30.
  • CLE off-site parking is about $9/day, on-site parking is $17-$22/day, and curbside valet parking is $35/day.
  • CAK is ~40 minutes from the Jewish community and located nearby the NFL Hall of Fame.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CAK is about $45.

  • The nicest hotel in Cleveland is like the Ritz-Carlton downtown. Marriott's Metropolitan at The 9 is also highly regarded, with a bar in an old vault. There is also a Hilton, Westin, and Kimpton downtown.

Transportation:
  • There is a subway/light rail connecting the airport with downtown, University Circle (where the Case campus and many museums are) and the Jewish community area, but renting a car is pretty much required unless you are just going between the airport and downtown.

Thanks. Do you have another transportation idea for me besides a rental? (Group of 8)

I've rented in CLE with Hertz, pretty fast process. All in all it took about 30 minutes from landing until I was out of the gate, YMMV.

I used a chabad code for Hertz, had a Yukon for like $80.

I booked the $34 sale for my whole family one day Chol Hamoed. Will be in Cleveland from 10:30AM to 4:00PM. Way home I have to take off an hour for the airport. (no luggage). My kids are ages 13-3. We will be a group of 8.

I was looking into the wiki. Based on ages and timing

I was thinking of doing 1 of the following:

African safari wildlife park
Zoo and Rainforest
Aquarium

Any of you that are familiar with the area, which one would you choose or would you choose anything altogether based on the ages of kids.

Also, for transportation should I rent a minivan or use public or hire a driver. Think that renting will waste too much time for such a short trip.

Thanks for any help.

Also, are any of the 3 above near a public sukkah?

Rainforest is closed.

Westin Downtown Cleveland opens 05/15, will be a category 3.
Like most of downtown Cleveland, it's owned by Optima (Korf).
3rd SPG to open in CLE in the past year.

Got a ticket going normal speed in a school zone (when school was in session)
Something like 2 points and 250$.
Is it even worth fighting?

I'm not aware of any. Best bet is the Hyatt Place.

hoping not to go hotel route where i would be renting out 8+ rooms for the long weekend and then have to rent out additional room for eating in.

Increase your life insurance first.

The address to aim for is 2479 S Green Rd, Beachwood, OH 44122.
Really doubt there's anything suitable within a 30 minute walk other than the Hyatt Place.

Oh, I get it. I was just comparing the godaven map with the Vrbo map and google maps and it seemed like it would work. But I know nothing about the safety of the neighborhoods in cle, so I would trust you on that.

thanks for trying.

honestly, Cleveland just happens to be located in convenient location for 20+ ppl to get together with easy access to catered shabbos food + minyan. can always do other cities in "midwest".

if cant find anything then may just fly but rather not.
